PRESIDENT OF THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT OF THE REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA HOSTED THE CO-RAPPORTEURS ON ARMENIA OF THE PARLIAMENTARY ASSEMBLY OF THE COUNCIL OF EUROPE MONITORING COMMITTEE
On November 6, 2023, Kimmo Kiljunen and Boriana Aberg, the Co-Rapporteurs on Armenia of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Monitoring Committee (PACE), and Matthew Monin, Secretary of the PACE Monitoring Commission, were hosted at the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia.
Welcoming the members of the delegation, President of the Constitutional Court Arman Dilanyan emphasized the importance of cooperation with the Council of Europe and other international partners, emphasizing the importance of comprehensive reform programs for the open dialogue on constitutional justice in the Republic of Armenia, more unified legal practice, improving access to constitutional justice, and strengthening democracy, human rights, equality and the rule of law in Armenia.
At the request of the delegation members, the President of the Constitutional Court touched upon the priority issues revealed by the international partners, the systemic solution of which will further increase the effectiveness of the activities of the Constitutional Court, and the efforts for their solution.
During the meeting, the parties referred to the issues of strengthening public trust in the judiciary in the Republic of Armenia, and emphasized the importance of the ongoing reforms of the judiciary.
