ANNOUNCEMENT

Recently there have been increased cases of targeting the Constitutional Court and certain justices on public platforms, social networks and some media due to individual, group or other sectional (mostly political) interests.
The Constitutional Court has always followed the principle appropriate to the status of the High Court, and avoids addressing unreasonable and empty statements by interested persons or organizations, even if they contain defamatory content against the Constitutional Court and the justices or staff members of the Constitutional Court. Nevertheless, it is obvious that more frequent are the cases of dissemination of information defaming the justices or staff members of the Constitutional Court in the conclusions of amateur level analysis questioning the legitimacy of judicial acts, the attempts to mislead the public through deliberate distortions of the content of the decisions of the Constitutional Court, and the dissemination of misinformation, as well as the statements made for the purpose of discrediting the justices and staff members of the Constitutional Court.
We urge individuals and groups engaged in such activities to refrain from attempts to distort the content of the decision (decisions) of the Constitutional Court and, before making statements to the public, first read the Decision DCC-1749.
We draw the attention of the mass media to such illegal manifestations, and we believe that tolerance towards such continued behavior is unacceptable and must be legally assessed should it continue.
