1997 Post-graduate Program at the Chair of Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics of the Law Faculty of Yerevan State University
2000 Defended his PhD thesis at the Scientific Council of Yerevan State University on the "Independence of Judges in the Republic of Armenia: guarantees of judicial organization and criminal procedure"
Participation in dozens of trainings, scientific and practical conferences in different countries (USA, Canada, France, Germany, Belgium, Great Britain, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Albania, etc.), including:
• Training course on "Investigation and Prosecution of Official Corruption" at the Central European and Eurasian Law Initiative (CEELI), April 8-12, 2019, Prague, Czech Republic
• Training course "For lawyers of Russia and CIS countries on international human rights law" organized by the Centre de la protection internationale, October 15-21, 2017, Strasbourg, France
As an expert, presented the current issues of the judicial and legal system of Armenia from the perspective of the international commitments undertaken by the Republic of Armenia, delivering public statements at different platforms, including:
• Session of the UN Committee against Torture (2016, Geneva, Switzerland)
• Carnegie Endowment for International Peace (2011, Washington, D.C., U.S.)
• 2012-2013, 2015-2018, European Parliament, European Commission Brussels, Belgium – Advocacy visits dedicated to Armenia's honouring its commitments under the European Neighbourhood Policy, etc
Fluent in Russian and English at the level of an interpreter (2015-2020 - simultaneous interpretation services on legal topics to the Council of Europe, the US Embassy in Armenia, and other organizations on a contractual basis)
Davit Khachaturyan is married and has two children.
