ARMAN DILANYAN HOSTED THE AMBASSADOR OF FRANCE TO ARMENIA ANNE LOUYOT
On 16 November 2022, the President of the Constitutional Court Arman Dilanyan hosted the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to the Republic of Armenia H.E. Ms. Anne Lօuyot.
Arman Dilanyan noted with appreciation that the Armenian-French relations and the judicial-legal cooperation dynamically develop, and the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia is committed to further enhancing of cooperation with the Constitutional Council of the French Republic which in its turn best reflects the general logic of the exceptional Armenian-French relations. The President of the Constitutional Court attached particular importance to the role of the French Republic in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. While referring to the recent large-scale aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan on the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia on 13-14 September 2022, President of the Constitutional Court Arman Dilanyan emphasized the importance of clear, unequivocal, and targeted condemnation and the immediate response by the French side to Azerbaijan's aggression.
While extending gratitude to the President of the Constitutional Court for his high appraisal and warm reception, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic Anne Lօuyot noted that France attaches great importance to the cooperation with friendly Armenia and emphasized the commitment of the French side to further expand relations also in the field of the judiciary. In this respect, Ambassador Lօuyot commended the commitment of the Constitutional Court to strengthen ties with the Constitutional Council of the French Republic and the Association of Francophone Constitutional Courts.
During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the agenda of the Armenian-French bilateral legal relations and the prospects of cooperation in the field of the rule of law. At the request of the guests, Arman Dilanyan presented the process of ongoing institutional reforms at the Constitutional Court. Ambassador Lօuyot emphasized the full-fledged support of the reforms underway by the High Court and reiterated the commitment of the French side to supporting their progress.
