MEETING WITH THE HEAD OF THE KONRAD ADENAUER FOUNDATION REGIONAL PROGRAM
On August 1, 2019, Hrayr Tovmasyan, President of the Constitutional Court hosted Thomas Schrapel, Head of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation Regional Program, and Liana Marukyan, Head of the Yerevan Office Project of the Foundation.
During the meeting the parties discussed the issues on the specific plans and events to be implemented in the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Constitutional Court and the Foundation on July 4, 2019.
Hrayr Tovmasyan, President of the Constitutional Court expressed his satisfaction with joint efforts in the process of implementing the agreements reached with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and expressed hope that the results would be visible in the nearest future. In particular, certain steps were undertaken to conduct a joint discussion of the study of German practice in October 2019 and to hold a joint conference within the framework of the Day of the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia on July 5, 2020.
Amongst other issues of mutual interest the parties discussed the idea to conduct a competition among the students and law professors of the leading Armenian universities on scientific articles of constitutional law during this and next year, and granting scholarships to the best authors.
The Konrad Adenauer Foundation expressed the readiness to provide the necessary support to other programs and initiatives which are planned by the Constitutional Court.
