THE PRESIDENT OF THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT HOSTED THE U.S. AMBASSADOR TO ARMENIA
Today, the President of the Constitutional Court Arman Dilanyan hosted the U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Kristina Kvien.
Welcoming the Ambassador’s visit to the High Court, the President of the Constitutional Court congratulated Ambassador Kvien on assuming the diplomatic mission, and stressed the importance of her activities in the current complicated situation in the world, and especially in our region.
Referring to the strong partnership established between the Constitutional Court and the U.S. Embassy, Arman Dilanyan expressed hope that this cooperation will continue to develop and expand during the tenure of Ambassador Kristina Kvien.
The President of the Constitutional Court noted the following: “As the High Court of Armenia, we are committed to ensuring the consistent strengthening of democracy, sovereignty, freedom, and the rule of law in our country.” Arman Dilanyan highly appreciated the ongoing support from US partners in the systemic reforms aimed at strengthening the capacities and promoting institutional independence of the Constitutional Court.
U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Kristina Kvien expressed gratitude for the reception, and noted that she was impressed by the judicial system reforms carried out in Armenia in recent years. The Ambassador also emphasized that democratic values are anchored on a solid judicial system.
Ambassador Kvien highly emphasized the positive experience of cooperation between the Constitutional Court, the US Embassy, and many agencies, and expressed her commitment to supporting further cooperation in this framework.
During the discussion, the parties stressed the need to develop the Armenian-American “Judicial diplomacy,” and agreed on making efforts to intensify the cooperation and dialogue between the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia and the Supreme Court of the United States.
A number of issues of mutual interest were also discussed at the meeting.
