INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE IN MOLDOVA
From 19-20 February, Araik Tunyan, Judge of the Constitutional Court, participated in the International Conference on “Constitutional Justice and Public Response when the Decisions of the Constitutional Court do not Coincide with the Opinion of the Majority of the Public” organized on the 25th Anniversary of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova.
The Conference was attended by high-ranking representatives of the political and judicial spheres of the Republic of Moldova, as well as representatives and participants from the academic courts of the 14 partner countries of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, the Baltic and Eastern Europe. Igor Dodon, President of the Republic of Moldova, Vladimir Turcan, President of the Constitutional Court, as well as Gianni Buquicchio, President of the Venice Commission welcomed the Conference participants.
Within the framework of the Conference, the newly elected President of the Constitutional Court of Moldova Mr. Vladimir Turcan also initiated courtesy meetings with the heads of foreign delegations. During a private conversation between Judge Araik Tunyan and Mr. Turcan, issues of further cooperation between the Constitutional Courts of Armenia and Moldova were discussed, as well as details of the participation of the delegation of the Constitutional Court of Moldova in the forthcoming international conference to be organized by the RA Constitutional Court.
