THE CHIEF DELEGATION OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT PARTICIPATED IN THE CONFERENCE OF PRESIDENTS OF THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURTS OF EUROPE

On May 3-5, 2023, the President of the Constitutional Court Arman Dilanyan and the Justice of the Constitutional Court Yervand Khundkaryan paid a three-day working visit to Berlin to participate in the conference entitled "Climate Change as a Challenge for Constitutional Law and Constitutional Courts".

The conference of the Presidents of the Constitutional Courts of Europe was organized by the Federal Constitutional Court of Germany which was also attended by the President of the Court of Justice of the European Union, Cohen Lenaerts and the President of the European Court of Human Rights, Shiofra O'Leary.

The work sessions touched upon three different agendas namely; "Recourse to constitutional courts in climate litigation cases," "Constitutional responsibility: causality, duties of protection, freedoms" and "The potential of constitutional courts in tackling climate change: their possibilities and limitations in the political process."

The participants of the conference were hosted by the President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier at Bellevue Castle.
