PRESIDENT OF THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT HAD WORKING MEETINGS IN VILNIUS
On 26 October 2022, President of the Constitutional Court Arman Dilanyan, who was in Vilnius on a working visit, held a meeting with the President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Lithuania Danutė Jočienė.
After the official welcoming ceremony, the presidents of the high courts of the two countries continued the working meeting in an expanded format.
Welcoming the Armenian delegation, the President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Lithuania emphasized the importance of the visit of the delegation led by Arman Dilanyan to Vilnius and expressed confidence that it would give a new impetus to the development of bilateral cooperation in the fields of the rule of law, human rights protection and the judiciary. Danutė Jočienė welcomed the internal institutional reforms launched at the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia and noted that the Constitutional Court of Lithuania is committed to share its accumulated field experience and to contribute to the judicial-legal reforms in Armenia.
While extending gratitude for the invitation to pay a working visit and for the warm reception of the Armenian delegation in Vilnius, Arman Dilanyan conveyed confidence that the Armenian-Lithuanian friendly relations would consistently develop and record new milestones.
In this respect, Arman Dilanyan attached the importance to the expansion of ties in the field of constitutional justice, as well as commended the steps toward sharing the best practices in the field of the rule of law.
Within the framework of working discussion, the parties addressed agenda items related to the institution of individual constitutional complaint in both countries and the specifics of communicating to the public the decisions of the Constitutional Courts.
Summarizing the meeting, President of the Constitutional Court Arman Dilanyan left a note in the honorary guest book of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Lithuania. Afterwards, accompanied by Danutė Jočienė, the Armenian delegation toured the courtroom, library and office rooms of the Constitutional Court of Lithuania.
Within the framework of the working visit to Vilnius, the delegation led by the President of the Constitutional Court also held working meetings with the Vice President of the Seimas, the Minister of Justice and the Ad Interim Chairwoman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Lithuania.
