PRESIDENT OF THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT HOSTED DEPUTY HEAD OF THE OFFICE OF THE COUNCIL OF EUROPE IN YEREVAN MAXIME LONGANGUE

On 14 January 2021, President of the Constitutional Court Arman Dilanyan hosted Deputy Head of the Office of the Council of Europe in Yerevan Maxime Longangue and Project Manager of CoE in Yerevan in the sphere of judiciary Tamara Barbakadze.
At the beginning of the meeting, Arman Dilanyan appreciated the role of the Council of Europe in the implementation of rule of law, fundamental human rights and freedoms, as well as judicial reforms in Armenia, emphasizing that the Council of Europe is one of the key international partners of Armenia.
Maxime Longangue, in his turn, emphasized the cooperation of the Office of Council of Europe in Yerevan with public administration bodies and on behalf of CoE expressed readiness of the Council of Europe to intensify the cooperation with the Constitutional Court in the projects of mutual interest.
The interlocutors referred to the long-term cooperation between the Constitutional Court and the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe and underlined the need for the further strengthening of cooperation.
