On 8 April 2026, the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia hosted the delegation of Members of the Riksdag of the Kingdom of Sweden, who arrived in Armenia within the framework of the “2024–2026 Democratic Development Cooperation Programme of the Swedish Riksdag”. The Swedish delegation was accompanied by the delegation from the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.
Welcoming the guests, the President of the Constitutional Court, Arman Dilanyan, highly appreciated the cooperation between the legislative bodies of the Republic of Armenia and the Kingdom of Sweden aimed at the development and strengthening of democracy.
The Members of the Riksdag noted that promoting democracy and human rights is an important area of cooperation between the Kingdom of Sweden and the partners of the Republic of Armenia. Taking into account the differences in the judicial-legal systems of the Kingdom of Sweden and the Republic of Armenia, the Members of the Riksdag expressed interest in the peculiarities of Armenia’s judicial-legal system.
At the request of the guests, the President of the Constitutional Court presented the structure of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia, the features of its activities, as well as the principles of its relations and cooperation with other state bodies. Arman Dilanyan also presented the historical path of the establishment of the Constitutional Court and the developments in the legislation regulating the activities of the High Court, along with their impact on enhancing the effectiveness of constitutional justice.
During the meeting, a number of issues of mutual interest were discussed.
