A COURSE FOR JOURNALISTS ON LEGAL TOPICS WAS HELD AT THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT
Within the framework of the project "Support to the Institutional Reforms of the Constitutional Court" implemented by the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia with the support of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the partnership of the "Europe of Law" NGO, a training course on "Peculiarities of covering the activities of the Constitutional Court" was held at the Constitutional Court, and the journalists of mass media covering legal topics participated in the courses.
Vice President of the Constitutional Court Mr. V. Grigoryan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Armenia Mr. N. Schermers, and Mrs. L. Hakobyan, President of the NGO "Europe in Law" made opening speeches at the official opening of the course.
Welcoming the participants of the seminar, Vice-President of the Constitutional Court noted that this format of cooperation with the media provides an opportunity to assist journalists covering the legal sphere to more effectively cover not only the activities of the Constitutional Court but also legal issues in general.
Ambassador Schermers highly appreciated the initiative aimed at effective cooperation with the media, and emphasized its continuity.
According to the President of the "Europe in Law Association" NGO Lusine Hakobyan, such knowledge-based events provide an opportunity to strengthen the idea of responsible journalism, as well as contribute to increasing the public accountability of state administration authorities.
The official opening ceremony was followed by two thematic courses with the subsequent speeches delivered by Vice-President of the Constitutional Court Mr. V. Grigoryan and Chief of the Staff Mr. S. Arakelyan.
