ADVISOR TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT NAIRA HOVHANNISYAN PARTICIPATED IN THE 7TH SUPERIOR COURTS NETWORK FORUM
On June 6-7, 2024, the 7th Superior Courts Network Forum was held at the European Court of Human Rights (Strasbourg). The Adviser to the President of the Constitutional Court Naira Hovhannisyan, as a coordinator of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia at the Superior Courts Network, participated in the Forum upon the invitation of the President of the European Court of Human Rights.
The 7th Superior Courts Network Forum included a Session on "National courts and the challenge of climate change litigation", as well as Working Groups Sessions on "Judicial communication strategies: contemporary challenges", within the framework of which the Adviser to the President of the Constitutional Court Naira Hovhannisyan presented the strategy of the external communication of the Constitutional Court, and the reforms implemented in this field, which are aimed at increasing the transparency of the Court's activities, and increasing public trust in the Court.
The Forum was organized within the framework of the project “Enhancing Subsidiarity: Support to the ECHR Knowledge-sharing and Superior Courts Dialogue” (Subsidiarity Project) which is a collaboration between the Registry of the European Court of Human Rights and the Council of Europe Directorate General of Human Rights and Rule of Law.
The Superior Courts Network was established by the European Court of Human Rights in 2015 which was aimed at contributing to the implementation of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms through the exchange of knowledge on the best practices of national high courts, Convention Case Law, and related issues.
