PRESIDENT OF THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT HOSTED THE U.S. AMBASSADOR TO ARMENIA
On May 24, 2024, the President of the Constitutional Court Arman Dilanyan hosted the U.S. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Armenia Kristina Kvien, and USAID/Armenia Mission Director John G. Allelo.
Welcoming the guests, the President of the Constitutional Court highly appreciated the ongoing activities implemented with the support of the U.S. Embassy in the field of constitutional justice, which are aimed at implementing the institutional reforms at the Constitutional Court, as well as addressing the strengthening of democratic institutions, and promoting the rule of law.
At the meeting, the parties emphasized the promotion of Armenia-US “Judicial Diplomacy”. In the given context, reference was made to the forthcoming study visit of the delegation of the Constitutional Court to the United States and to the planned meetings at the U.S. Supreme Court and other justice sector institutions.
The parties noted that the upcoming visit is a solid opportunity to restore and strengthen cooperation and dialogue between the Armenian Constitutional Court and the U.S. Supreme Court.
A number of issues of mutual interest were also addressed during the meeting.
