PRESIDENT OF THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT DISCUSSED WITH INTERNATIONAL EXPERTS THE ISSUES RELATED TO THE IMPLEMENTATION OF REFORMS IN THE JUDICIAL-LEGAL SPHERE
On 24 November 2022, the President of the Constitutional Court Arman Dilanyan hosted the delegation of the International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ) led by the Deputy Executive Director, Director of Programs Anna Myriam Roccatello.
During the meeting, Arman Dilanyan attached importance to the implementation of systemic reforms in the justice sector and noted that the Constitutional Court takes consistent steps for its internal institutional reforms. In particular, the President of the Constitutional Court referred to the measures undertaken for safeguarding the rule of law, protection of democratic values and human rights. At the same time, Arman Dilanyan stressed the importance of strengthening the cooperation and the exchange of best practices with the international experts and professional consultancy organizations operating in the justice sector.
The experts of the International Center for Transitional Justice presented to Armenia’s High Court President their experience of the reforms in the field of justice, as well as they presented the observations on the justice and rule of law reforms ongoing in Armenia. Anna Roccatello welcomed the reforms initiated by the Constitutional Court. The experts expressed their willingness to cooperate with the Constitutional Court and contribute to the modernization of Armenia’s justice system.
